Condolence From: Linda Cowan
Condolence: I met George when I took a night course at Durham College that he was teaching. Four of us, plus 'Dr. George' formed a connection and became good friends. After class we would either go to Kelsey's on Simcoe St. or George would invite us back to his place. He was an amazing, kind and interesting man. I so enjoyed the time we spent together and I learned so much from such a wise friend. I will always remember you Dr. George. God Speed.

Condolence: Our deepest sympathies and condolences to George's family. He was our neighbour for more than 20 years. He always had the most fascinating stories to tell about his life and entertained each one of us at some time or another with his history. He was a sweetheart and we will miss him dearly. He will always be in our memories as we now have stories about him to tell.

Condolence: I had the privilege of working with George Blake for at year at Whitby Psychiatric Hospital and three years at Pinewood Center in Oshawa, as head nurse in the alcoholism unit.
Quoting a famous saying:
"O faith. That grateful friend. Give a bird a wing to fly. Then clip the wing."
Rest in Peace, George.

Condolence: Uncle George was my mother's brother. He was her last surviving sibling. I last saw him in Oct 2015 and he was still telling stories of his life. He was one of those people who brought joy to those around him. Condolences to his sons Arun and Yashin and all those who knew and loved him. He will be missed.

Condolence From: Dianne Stackhouse and Brian McLatchie
Condolence: Dianne and I had the good fortune to have known George for almost 50 years having worked for him at the alcohol treatment unit in Whitby from its' beginning. We quickly realized that he was a very "Special Person" who was more than willing to initiate new treatment concepts and challenge any long standing system rules that he felt were not respectful of our patients.
We are proud to say that we remained friends of George throughout his many years in Canada.
